Such a fantastic event today at the Spring Gathering as part of the #socialinclusion week events organised by DLDC.Community Gardens came from all over #donegal to connect, network, share knowledge and enjoy a lovely walk to Letterkenny Community Gardens for a wonderful springtime walk in the garden. Huge thanks to Kathleen Donaghey from @TTheVestry Cairde le Cheile for the warm welcome, the food and the excellent demonstration and talk on using the Donegal Loy Loy Association of Ireland. Thanks you also to our keynote speakers Kitty Scully, Organic Growers of Ireland (OGI) and Conor O'Kane, Social Farms & Gardens Northern Ireland and Community Gardens Ireland And finally a huge thanks to all the community gardens and gardeners that came to this event. The Department of Rural and Community Development has announced details of when the main capital investment schemes will be opening in 2023.Encouraging community groups to apply, Minister Heather Humphreys said: “There has never been as many opportunities for local community groups to access funding for rural and community development projects.
